Penzance Heliport is West Cornwall’s operational helicopter gateway, a mile from Penzance town centre, with scheduled Isles of Scilly connections plus fuel, parking and hangarage for visiting pilots.
Penzance Heliport at Jelbert Way, Long Rock is the mainland helicopter gateway for scheduled travel to the Isles of Scilly. The present facility opened in March 2020, restoring the rotary-wing connection from Penzance after an earlier service had been lost. Passengers book the island flights through Penzance Helicopters, while the heliport itself also supports visiting pilots with operational information, fuel, parking and hangarage.
The location is deliberately practical for connections: it is just off the A30 and roughly a mile from Penzance railway station, with an electric shuttle-bus link. The heliport states that it has on-site parking for around 270 vehicles, EV charging points and bicycle storage. Those facilities make it workable for travellers arriving from elsewhere in Cornwall or connecting from the national rail network, rather than treating the flight as an isolated attraction. Passengers should still check the operator's current check-in, luggage and disruption guidance before setting out, as aviation schedules can be affected by operating conditions.
For private helicopter arrivals, this is an active operational airfield rather than a casual landing site. The official information says the heliport operates VFR during its normal published hours, has JET A1 fuel available on request, and offers grass, hardstanding and hangar parking subject to availability. Visiting pilots must submit the PPR form at least 24 hours before their planned arrival and confirm handling or parking needs in advance. With the A30, rail and bus links close by, it can also serve as a useful arrival point for exploring Penzance, St Michael's Mount and the wider west Cornwall coast.
